at a court here held 28.12.1676 Hen Abbutt was admitted to one close of pasture containing 8a called Lytchards alias Newmans and also to one parcel of land called Glasiers containing 2a and at a court held 7.6.1708 the said Hen was admitted to one tenement situate in Earls Colne called Le Blue Boar now in the occupation of Isaac Potter now at this court it appeared that the said Hen Abbutt 7.7.1710 surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston gentleman instead of the bailiff in the presence of Gilb Smith gentleman and Hen Adams junior all and singular his customary lands and tenements held of the manor to the use of his last will and that the said Hen died after the last court upon which at this court came Rose Abbutt spinster eldest daughter of the said Hen and showed the will of the said Hen made 30.8.1710 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words item I give and bequeath unto my eldest daughter Rose Abbutt and to her heirs forever all that my messuage or tenement with the lands and hopgrounds and orchards thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Earls Colne which I lately purchased of Hen Adams with the malting office and buildings thereupon erected and also all my copyhold messuages lands and tenement with their appurtenances situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid except such as are settled upon my son Hen etc and Rose Abbutt was admitted etc and gave fine but fealty respited
