whereas at a court holden 9.4.1724 found that Jn Brewster before that court on 3.4.1724 surrendered by the hands of Geo Brook gentleman instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Pratt and Sam Christmas all his customary lands etc to the use of his last will now the homage present the death of the said Jn and that before he died he made his will dated 2.4.1731 and by the same devised all his copyhold tenements as followeth I give and bequeath unto Sarah my loving wife after my decease all that my copyhold messuages tenements orchards yards gardens and appurtenances whatsoever to me belonging and holden upon the manor of Earls Colne or Colne Priory to the said Sarah my loving wife during the term of her natural life and after her decease I give and bequeath the said copyhold messuages lands and tenements with their appurtenances to my son Jn Brewster and his heirs and assigns forever whereupon came the said Sarah and Jn the son and were admitted to all that tenement and garden and rentary adjoining with the appurtenances called Ruffles and one piece of land containing 2r with appurtenances late parcel of Barnhaws situate in Earls Colne in the several tenures of the said Sarah Brewster Sarah Cakebread widow and Solomon Hiscok or their assigns to have to the said Sarah for life to remain to the said Jn after her death etc and t hey gave fine etc
