whereas at a special court held 19.8.1729 Jn Cooke surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston gentleman deputy steward all his lands etc held by copy of the manor to the use of his last will now at this court the homage present the death of the said Jn and that before his death he made his will dated 14.11.1733 and by the same devised the lands etc as followeth I give and devise unto my daughter Mary Cook and her heirs forever all that my copyhold tenement with the lands and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Earls Colne and now in the occupation of Jonathan Goslin and holden of the manor of Colne Priory which I lately purchased of mrs Eliz Stebbing Benj Ellis and Wm Cressall and Mary Cooke came and was admitted to a messuage or tenement and barn and three crofts of land containing 6a2r called Eight Acres with appurtenances in the occupation of Goslin held by the annual rent of 5s etc and gave fine etc
