23. about 3 o clock this morning god answered prayer, magnified his goodness to us in sending a sweet and comfortable rain whereof we had some hopes the last night. Mrs Wm Harlakenden very ill small hopes of her life. the smallpox is at Ed:Pott(er) (may be Ed:Pott(er)) god still good in our preservation. this night also it rained so that I hope its at the roots of all things, and yet there continue likelihood of more rain yet.
