24. went to Mr Tompsons , returned. 26. my journey very comfortable blessed be god, my John rather worse with his cough, lord show us mercy and affect my bowels towards them - 27. went down to Wakes Coln and preached on a sudden, god good to me therein, there were a good company attending the word, the lord bless that duty of hope, and cause my heart to put my trust in him.

[1656] and now god has entered me on that stupendous year of 1656. of which men have had strange thoughts and though I am not of their minds yet I expect notable effects, and the desire of my soul is towards the lord to take an especial care of me.
