fine 3liwhereas at a view with court here held saturday in easter week in the reign of Elizabeth late queen of England deceased (no year) Thos Wade was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs by and after the death of Wm Wade his father deceased as son and heir of the said Wm to three crofts of land containing by estimation about 20a called Bowerfield upon which one messuage or tenement has now been built with appurtenances as by a certain court roll it is legally pledged and shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Thos Wade after the last court and before this court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Xoph Parkinson instead of the bailiff in the presence of Rich Parker and Sam Game two customary tenants of this manor the same testifying two closes of land a parcel of the same said premises one lying between the demesne lands of the manor of Colne Priory called Southfield towards the east and north east and the other close of land parcel of the said Bowerfield towards the south west one head thereof abutting the demesne land of the manor of the said Colne Priory called Milles towards the north west the other head thereof abutting upon two pightles of land parcel of the said Bowerfield towards the south west and the other close lying between the said demesne land of Colne Priory called Southfield towards the east and the other pightle of land parcel of the said Bowerfield towards the west one head thereof abutting upon the aforesaid close towards the north the other head thereof abutting upon a certain lane towards the south and containing in all about 7a3r7p to the use and behoof of Hugh Johnson and his heirs forever who the same said Hugh present in court sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by his said steward granted to him seisin thereof to have to himself and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as stated in the margin and made fealty to the lord and was admitted tenant thereof
