whereas at a court here held 23.10.1616 Israel Ennowes was admitted tenant of the lord to himself and his heirs to one rentary with appurtenances late of Wm Brome alias Brome and afterwards of Jn Bieston as by roll of the said court clearly shown now it is shown by the homage of this present court that the said Israel Ennowes before this court and after the last court viz 29.9.1621 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Parker instead of the bailiff in the presence of Nich Borley and Jeff Potter two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor the said rentary with appurtenances now in the tenure or occupation of Jn Garrett# or his assigns to the use and behoof of Barth Clarke and Jane now his wife and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated between them forever upon which now to this court came the aforesaid Barth and Jane in person and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the said rentary with appurtenances according to the form and intention of the said surrender to whom the same said Barth and Jane his wife the lord by his said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have to themselves the aforesaid Barth and Jane and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated between them to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave therefore to the lord fine and fealty and were admitted thereof tenants
