memo that by the election and consent of Barth Churche son and heir of Robt Church doctor of divinity deceased the aforesaid Barth being under age viz 16years or thereabouts Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the said manor granted custody both of the body and of all the lands of the said Barth held of the same said manor to Rose Church widow and mother of the aforesaid Barth until the said Barth himself reaches the age of twenty one years as by a certain writing declared under the hand of the aforesaid Rich Harlakenden signed etc and here produced in court and which the aforesaid Rose now sought to be enrolled fully and legally the tenor of which same said script in the following english words viz 24.3.1634 Earls Colne and Colne Priory let it be known that I Rich Harlakenden of Earls Colne in the county of Essex esq lord of the said manor of Earls Colne and Colne Priory by the consent of Barth Church being about the age of 16years have granted the guardianship of the said Barth until he accomplish the age of twenty one years unto Rose Church widow mother of the said Barth and to receive and take to his use the profit and rents of all his lands holden of either the said manors paying to the lord such out rents as are due for the same and to give a true account to him the said Barth when he shall accomplish the age of twenty one years provided that these presents be enrolled at my next courts in witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year above written by me Rich Harlakenden
