whereas at a court baron here held wednesday being 23.6.1613 Agnes Byrd and Rich Byrd her son were admitted tenants of the lord by the surrender of Wm Rayner and Joan his wife she herself being solely and secretly examined to one parcel of land containing by estimation 6a now divided into two parcels parcel of a certain field called Lowefield in the said Colne containing by estimation 16a of land lying next to a meadow of the lord called Holme Meade alias Hall Meadow on one part and a certain way leading from the said Colne towards Tey on the other part as divided and shown by the metes and bounds to the use and behoof of the said Agnes Byrd widow for the term of her life the remainder thereof after her decease to the said Rich Byrd the son of the said Agnes and the heirs of the body of the said Rich and in default of such issue the remainder thereof to Hen Byrd another son of the said Agnes and the heirs of the body of the said Hen and in default of such issue the remainder thereof to Mary then and now wife of Jn Lucas daughter of the said Agnes and the heirs of Mary herself forever as by a court roll here in court lawfully and fully produced and shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Rich Byrd and Hen before this court died without heirs of their body procreated and that the said premises mentioned should remain after the death of the said Agnes to this time being alive to the said Mary and the heirs of the said Mary forever who the same said Mary present here in court sought admittance to the said remainder according to the surrender mentioned above to whom the lord by his said steward granted seisin to her to have to the said Mary and the heirs of Mary herself forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord as etc in margin     and was admitted thereof tenant and afterwards into this court the court sitting came the said Jn Lucas and Mary his wife Mary herself being solely and secretly examined and acknowledged by the said steward as is the custom and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward the said parcel of land containing by estimation 6a now divided into two parcels parcel of a field called Lowefield containing by estimation 16a of land as divided as above by the metes and bounds and shown to the use and behoof of the said Jn Lucas and Mary his wife for their lifetimes and to the longer liver and after their decease to the use and behoof of Eliz Lucas second daughter of the said Jn and Mary and the heirs of her body legitimately procreated and in default of su ch heirs then to the use and behoof of Mary first born daughter of the said Jn and Mary and the heirs of the body of the said Mary legitimately procreated and in default of such heirs to the use and behoof of the rightful heirs of the said Jn and Mary forever who the same said Jn and Mary his wife present here in court sought admittance to the premises to whom the same said Jn and Mary his wife and Eliz by Jn as her attorney the lord by his said steward granted seisin thereof to have to the said Jn and Mary his wife for their lifetimes and to the longer liver the remainder thereof to the said Eliz and the heirs of her body legitimately procreated to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine as is shown etc in margin     and the said Jn made fealty to the lord and they were admitted tenants thereof
