whereas at a view with court here held wednesday being 4.6.1628 it was presented by the homage that Jn Potter who held for himself and his heirs by copy of a court roll one parcel of land called Pondcroft alias Pondfield surrendered the aforesaid parcel of land among others to the use and behoof of his last will as by a roll of the said court clearly shown and whereas at a court here held 6.8.1628 it was presented by the homage that the aforesaid Jn Potter died after the aforesaid court and before this court seised thereof now to this court came Jeff Potter brother of the said Jn and Ann wife of the said Jeff and showed here in court testimonial letters of the said Jn Potter under the signature of the ordinary for this area bearing the date 12.6.1628 of which the tenor concerning the premises in the following words item I do give unto my brother Jeff Potter and to Ann his wife my copyhold land called Pondfield which I lately purchased of mr Jn Church for the term of their lives and the longer liver of them and the aforesaid Jeff and Ann sought admittance according to the surrender and the said will to whom the same said Jeff and Ann the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have the said parcel of land called Pondfield to the said Jeff and Ann for their lifetime and to the longer liver to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine etc and made fealty to the lord and were admitted thereof tenants of the lord
