item furthermore it is shown by the homage by the testimony of Jn Parker Rich Kempe and Edw Paine that the Gatehouse and way leading to the said Gatehouse being in Earls Colne always within their memory belonged to and should belong to a certain messuage late Joan Leffingwell and afterwards Thos Smith also Bayly and now Jn Hawksby clerk and his wife Dyonisia in the right of Dyonisia herself and that the fence was always maintained within their memory as the task and at the cost of the tenant of a certain messuage now Mary Nevill's widow
