and furthermore whereas at a court here held 1.9.1628 Jeff Potter and Ann his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for their lifetimes to one parcel of customary land called Dovehouse Field by the surrender of Jn Potter brother of the said Jeff which surrender was made to the use of the last will and testament of the said Jn Potter according to the tenor of the last will and testament of the said Jn as is clearly shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Jeff Potter and Ann after the last court and before this court died seised thereof whereupon came here into court Robt Potter son of Wm Potter brother of the said Jn and brought here into court written testaments of the said Jn Potter under the seal for the said regular documents signed and dated 12.6.1628 the tenor of which as far as sharing the premises between them in these words item I do give unto my brother Jeff Potter and Ann his wife my copyhold land called Dovehouse Field which I lately purchased of mr Jn Church for term of their lives and after their decease I do give the said land unto Robt Potter my brother Wm son and his heirs forever who the said Robt Potter present here in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have the said parcel of land with appurtenances to the said Robt Potter his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc
