whereupon came here into court Robt Potter son of Wm Potter brother of the said Jn and brought here into court written testament of the said Jn Potter under the seal for the said regular documents signed and dated 12.6.1628 the tenor of which as far as sharing the premises between them in these words item I do give unto my brother Jeff Potter and Ann his wife my copyhold land called Pondefield also Pondcroft which I lately purchased of mr Jn Church for term of their lives and after their deceases I do give the said land unto Robt Potter my brother Wm son and his heirs forever who the said Robt Potter here in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have the said parcel of land with appurtenances to himself and his heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc
