and furthermore at this court the lord in person granted from his hands to Mary Pake spinster one cottage and garden with appurtenances lying next to the church stile in Earls Colne and abutting upon a small piece of land of Wm Bridge towards the north west late in the tenure of Jn Smith and by the said steward delivered to the said Mary seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage and garden with appurtenances to the said Mary Pake her heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the fealty suit of court and the rent of 12d per annum to be paid at the usual feast for payment within the said manor and for such a grant she gave to the lord her fine and made fealty
