tenement called Jakes parcel of Lowfield and furthermore at this court the lord of the said manor in person granted from his hands to Wm Stanes husbandman and Susan his wife one croft of land with a barn built thereon with appurtenances called Jakes containing about 1a and a half sometime Rich Heyward's according as is shown by the court roll dated 19.4.1598 and by the said steward delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said croft and other premises with appurtenances to the said Wm Stanes and Susan for their lifetime and to the longer liver and to the heirs of Wm Stanes and his assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by fealty suit of court for 3weeks within 3weeks and by the rent of 5s per annum to be paid at the usual feast for payment within the said manor and for such a grant the said Wm and Susan gave to the lord their fines and made fealty
