whereas at a court here held 20.4.1636 Edw Clarke was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to certain lands and tenements called Parkefield and Chewnes by the surrender of Roger Harlakenden upon condition and at the intention that the said Edw Clarke make such surrender of the premises and to such person that Rich Harlakenden lord of the said manor delimit and nominate by writing signed by his hand as is shown by the said court roll now at this court the said Rich Harlakenden in full court by writing signed by his hand delimits and appoints the surrender of the said Edw Clarke into the hands of the lord the said lands and tenements with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Dan Rogers bachelor of theology his heirs and assigns forever upon which came here into court the said Edw Clarke and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward the said lands and tenements with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Dan Rogers his heirs and assigns forever to whom by Wm Harlakenden gentleman as his deputy the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said lands and tenements with appurtenances to the said Dan Rogers his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine but his fealty was respited
