Morses | whereas at a court here held 12.10.1637 Thos Smith was admitted tenant of the lord for his lifetime to one messuage or tenement with appurtenances then in the tenure of Thos Richmond or his assigns the remainder thereof to Mary Baker wife of Antho Baker for her lifetime and after her death the remainder thereof to Sigismund Baker son of the said Antho and Mary and the heirs and assigns of the said Sigismund forever as is shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that before this court the said Thos died whereupon came here into court the said Mary by the said Antho Baker her deputy and attorney and humbly sought admittance to whom the same Mary by her deputy and attorney the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage with appurtenances to the said Mary for her lifetime from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the fine agreed by the court for her admission at 8li10s to be paid to the now lord of the said manor or his assigns in or upon the 7.4.1640 at the mansion house of the lord called Colne Priory and fealty was respited |
