and furthermore at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Steph on the aforesaid 11.4.1644 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade junior instead of the bailiff in the presence of the said Jn Reade senior and Rich Finch (sic) all that messuage and garden with appurtenances which was late owned by Thos Harlakenden gentleman lying in Holt St also Broke St in Earls Colne to the use and intention in his last will and that by the testament he gave the premises to Grace Champney his wife for her lifetime the remainder thereof to Rose Mann daughter of the said Clem Mann an d Sarah and her heirs forever to which premises the said Grace at a court here held 3.1.1637 was admitted for her lifetime as is shown by the said court roll therefore the admission of the said Rose is respited until etc
