and furthermore whereas at the said court here held 27.12.1641 as mentioned above it was shown by the homage that the said Joan Gilott who held for herself and he heirs one parcel of land with tenements built thereon containing about 4p parcel of a tenement called Fyrman Tylers lying next to the orchard pertaining to the said tenement called Firman Tilers on the northern part bought from Peter Gilott her uncle as is shown by the said court roll she surrendered into the hands of the lord according to the customs of the said manor the aforesaid parcel of land and buildings in which Francis Turner then lived to the use and intention expressed in her last will as is shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Joan Gilott by her last will in writing bearing the date 19.8.1639 gave and bequeathed the premises in these words item I give and bequeath to Robt Andrews and Eliz his wife my sister for the term of their lives and of the longer liver of them all that my part of a tenement called or known by the name of Fyrman Tilers with the orchards and other the appurtenances which I purchased of Peter Gilott my uncle and after the decease of the survivor of them I give the said messuage with the appurtenances to Susan Andrewes their daughter and to the heirs of her body and if it shall happen the said Susan to die without heirs of her body then I give the said part of the said tenement to Wm Andrewes my sister's son and to his heirs and assigns forever as by the said testament signed by the signature of the said Joan and clearly shown here in the aforesaid court and afterwards and before this court she died upon which came here into court the said Robt Andrewes and Eliz his wife and humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said premises with appurtenances to the said Robt Andrewes and Eliz his wife for their lifetimes and to the longer liver according to the tenor of the said will from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging etc and the fine was assessed by the court for the admission of the said Robt and Eliz at 40s to be paid to the lord or his assigns at his mansion house called Colne Priory in the following manner and form viz 20s at the feast of st john baptist commonly called midsummer day next following and 20s at the feast of michaelmas then next following and thus they were admitted tenants but the admission and fine of the said Susan was respited until etc
