whereas at a court here held 19.12.1627 Jn Hawksby and Dionisia his wife and Wm Hawksby their son were admitted tenants of the lord viz the said Jn and Dionisia for their lifetime the remainder thereof to the said Wm and his heirs to one tenement called Fillbriggs Winde Mill Hill and Lophams and a parcel of waste of the lord's fields as is shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Jn and Dionisia after the said court and before this court died seised thereof and that the said Wm Hawksby after the last court viz 2.11.1647 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the lord by the hands of Jas Adams instead of the bailiff in the presence of Wm Adams senior and Walt Pease two customary tenants of the said manor testifying the aforesaid tenement and parcel of waste with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Rushbrooke and Mary his wife for their lifetimes and to the longer liver and after their decease to the use and behoof of the heirs of their body legitimately procreated and in default of such to the use and behoof of the rightful heirs of the said Jn Rushbrooke forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said tenement and parcel of waste with appurtenances to the said Jn Rushbrooke and Mary for their lifetimes and to the longer liver the remainder thereof in the aforesaid form from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they paid their fine and made fealty
