and furthermore whereas at a court here held 20.10.1646 Jas Nicolls and Edith his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and the heirs of the said Jas to one messuage and garden called Cloviers with appurtenances as is shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Edith died about two years ago and that the said Jas survived her and that after the last court the said Jas died without heirs of his body and that Robt Nicolls son and heir of Jn Nicolls brother of the said Jas is kin and heir of the said Jas who through Hen Hatch his attorney came and humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the same Robt through the hands of his said attorney the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said messuage and garden with appurtenances to the said Robt Nicoll his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine
