at this court it was presented by the homage that Rose Church widow since the last court that is say upon 24.7.last did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Wm Adams in place of the bailiff and in the presence of Ralph Josselin clerk and Robt Potter two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing all those her two closes or parcels of copyhold land with the appurtenances called Beare Croft containing 4a3r more or less to the use of Wm Harlakenden esq his heirs and assigns upon condition that he the said Wm Harlakenden his heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto Thos Mannwood the son of Jasper Mannwood and of Mehitabel his wife the full sum of 100li of lawful English money within three months next ensuing the death of the said Rose upon his lawful demand of the same or at any time after within the term of three years and also upon condition that the said Wm Harlakenden his heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto Barth Church the son of Jn Church gentleman the sum of 5li of lawful English money so soon as he shall attain to his age of twenty one years upon his demand of the same and shall likewise pay to the said Barth the before recited sum of 100li mentioned to be paid to the said Thos Manwood if the said Thos shall happen to die before the time limited and never come to demand the same in the meantime or within the term of four years next ensuing after her death and upon condition that the said Wm Harlakenden his heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto Jane the wife of Toby Cressner kinswoman to the late husband to the said Rose her heirs or assigns the sum of 5li of lawful English money within one month after the decease of the said Rose upon lawful demand of the same and shall also pay to Margt Sawkins maidservant to the said Rose or to such servant as shall dwell or be with her at the time of her death the sum of 10li of lawful English money upon lawful demand of the same
