whereas at a court held for the said manor 17.1.1649 Eliz Dow then the wife of Hen Dow since deceased and formerly the wife of Jn Clerke deceased was admitted tenant to her and her heirs to all that part of a customary messuage called Murdens then in the occupation of Wm Sexten and all that part of a yard as it was divided by a footpath and adjoining to the messuage and yard of Edw Potter now at this court it was presented by the homage that since the last general court the said Eliz died so seised and that Jn Clerke is her son and heir who being present in court desired to be admitted tenant to the said premises to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said part of the said messuage and of the said yard with the appurtenances to the said Jn Clerke the son his heirs and assigns forever of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs for the same due and of right accustomed and he gave to the lord for his fine and did his fealty
