at this court it is presented by the homage that Robt Mihil customary tenant of the said manor after the last court viz 17.8.1661 in consideration of a marriage to be had and solemnised between the said Robt and Elinor Harris surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Toby Harris instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Wm Adams senior and Robt Harris two customary tenants of the said manor all that messuage or tenement in which the said Robt then lived situated in Earls Colne with the yard garden and orchard pertaining to the said messuage and belonging with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Elinor now wife of the said Robt immediately after the death of the said Robt Mihil and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated and in default of such issue to the use of the heirs of the said Elinor forever but no one came etc
