at this court it was presented by the homage that Robt Finch customary tenant of the said manor after the last general court viz 12.8.1662 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Edm Pilgrim instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Potter senior and Wm Adams senior two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying etc all that customary messuage or tenement called Charles Payne with buildings yards and gardens pertaining to the said messuage lying next to the cemetery of Earls Colne church to the wishes uses and intentions of his last will and testament declared or to be declared which same said Robt to this day lives in full health
