whereas at a court here held 4.4.1671 Wm Harlakenden esq was admitted to him and his heirs to one parcel of meadow containing by estimation 2r of land more of less late parcel of a meadow into four parts divided called Pakesgate Mead alias Ringers lying at Colne Park abutting on a certain meadow of Dan Nightingale in the right of Dorothy his wife and Alice Harlakenden and at a court here held 20.10.1646 the said Wm Harlakenden was admitted to him and his heirs to one croft or parcel of land containing by estimation more of less parcel of Bearecroft and at a court here held 12.7.16Chas2 the said Wm Harlakenden was admitted to him and his heirs by copy of court roll to one customary cottage or tenement with appurtenances and a garden lying in Crossgate Street late Jn Wade's containing in length 54ft and in breadth 24ft late in the occupation of Dan Aymes at this court it appeared to the homage that the said Wm Harlakenden 25.10.1673 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm instead of the bailiff in the presence of Geo Cressener and Jas two customary tenants etc all and singular the premises to the use of Ann Burton widow her heirs and assigns forever on condition that if the said Wm Harlakenden his executors administrators or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the said Ann Burton her executors or assigns the sum of 63li12s of legal money upon 30.5.1674 then this surrender to be void and of no effect now at this court came the said Ann Burton and gave the court intelligence that the aforesaid sum was not paid and to this day the greatest part of the sum is unpaid and upon this the said Ann Burton petitioned admittance of the lord etc to whom the steward delivered seisin to have and to hold the aforesaid cottage and parcel of land etc to the said Ann Burton her heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod etc and she gave the lord for fine etc
