fine 8liwhereas at a court here held 16.2.1648 Grace Abbutt was admitted to her and her heirs to one messuage or tenement customary with a curtilage adjoining called Greens Tenement and also to a garden once parcel of a tenement called Jakes and at a court here held 17.2.1648 (sic) the said Grace Abbutt was admitted to her and her heirs to one croft of land with a barn built upon it called Jakes containing by estimation 1a2r more or less and whereas at a court here held 12.7.1664 the said Grace Abbutt surrendered all her customary lands and tenements held of the manor aforesaid to the use of her last will etc now at this court Hen Abbutt senior showed in court the last will and testament of the said Grace now deceased made and dated 7.8.1676 the tenor of which concerning the premises in the following english words item I give and bequeath unto Hen Abbutt of Earls Colne aforesaid and his heirs all my messuages lands and tenements both free and copyhold lying in the parishes of Earls Colne and White Colne or in any other parish or parishes in the county of Essex upon which the said Hen Abbutt humbly petitioned admittance etc to whom the steward delivered seisin etc to have and to hold the said messuage garden and croft aforesaid to the said Hen Abbutt his heirs and assigns of the lord etc and he gave the lord for fine etc
