Gooldsgate and Wallfield | whereas at a court here held 12.7.1664 Jas Linnett was admitted to him and his heirs to one messuage or tenement called Goulds alias Goldsgate and five parcels of land containing by estimation 15a now at this court it appeared to the homage that the said Jas Linnett before this court on 2.9.1679 surrendered by the rod into the lord's hands by the hands of Geo Toller gentleman instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Fletcher and Giles Crow two customary tenants of the manor etc all his customary messuages lands and tenement held of the manor aforesaid to the use of his last will etc upon which came here into court Thos Linnett son of Jn Linnett brother of the said Jas and showed here in court the last will of the said Jas Linnett dated 2.9.1679 the tenor concerning the premises in the following english words item I give and bequeath unto my kinsman Thos Linnet son of my brother Jn Linnett and to his heirs forever all that messuage tenement or farm called Marigolds or otherwise with all the lands thereunto belonging now in the occupation of Salmon Steevens in Earls Colne in the county of Essex and upon this the said Thos Linnett humbly petitioned admittance etc to whom the steward delivered seisin to have and to hold the same messuage and parcel of land to the said Thos Linnett his heirs and assigns of the lord etc and he gave the lord for fine etc |
