at a court held 1.11.1653 Jn Rosbrooke was admitted to one tenement called Fillbridds Windmill Hill and Lophams and a parcel of land pertaining containing 2r and at a court held 12.7.1664 the said Jn was admitted to one tenement called Seabrights with appurtenances late Allen's now at this court it appeared that the said Jn surrendered by the hands of Sam Burton instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Fletcher and Jn Amye all and singular his customary lands and tenements to the use of his last will and that he died after the last court and upon this came Simon Rosbrooke his son and showed the will dated 6.4.1687 the tenor of which concerning the premises in the following words item I give unto Simon Rosbrooke my only son all that my copyhold messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell together with the lands yards orchards backsides with all and singular the appurtenances lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and now in the occupation of him the said Simon Rosbrooke or his assigns called or known by the name or names of Filbricks Lophams or Windmill Hill to him the said Simon my son and his heirs forever item I also give and bequeath unto the said Simon my son all that my messuage or cottage late Allen's being part of Seabrights lately purchased of Isaac Payne with all and singular the appurtenances to him the said Simon his heirs and assigns forever and he was admitted etc and gave fine and fealty respited
