at a court held 9.3.1686 Jn Sparrow was admitted to him and his heirs to customary cottage late into two cottages divided parcel Windmill Hill also Lophands held by annual rent 8d with services and at a court 21.3.1699 said Jn Sparrow was admitted to him and his heirs to one piece or parcel land late enclosed with yard adjoining messuage Lophams Windmill Hill containing 4p adjoining said customary messuage with common rights to it at this court it appears to homage that this day said Jn Sparrow out of court surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of Dan Nightingell instead of the bailiff in presence of Thos Osborne and Robt Ward two customary tenants etc all that cottage or tenement now in two cottages divided plus appurtenances now in separate occupation Rich Fossett and Wm Sexton to use of Sarah Edwins daughter of Jn Edwins of Halstead Essex yeoman her heirs and assigns forever the said Sarah by her father in role of attorney or deputy etc admitted fealty respited
