at a court held 1.5.1729 Jos Abbutt gentleman a customary tenant of manor surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of steward all and singular his copyhold messuages lands and tenements held of the manor to use of his last will now at this court homage find the death of Jos Abbutt whereupon comes into court Abigail wife of Oliver Johnson sister of Jos Abbutt produces the will of her brother dated 9.11.last in and by which said Jos did give and devise amongst others last therein devised unto his sister Abigail Johnson and her heirs all that messuage or tenement and farm called le Hayhouse with all lands meadows pastures hopgrounds hereditaments and appurtenances both freehold and copyhold and also all those houses above the Hayhouse called the Wick House with their appurtenances amongst other lands to her given to payment of his late brother Edw's legacies given to her children as reference to will it may appear thereupon said Abigail craves etc admitted tenant to such part of premises and copyhold to wit to all that messuage or tenement with buildings and appurtenances belonging called the Hayhouse with several pieces of land pasture and hopground containing 32a more or less and one piece meadow containing 3a more or less and Sladeland containing 8a more or less and 1a land in Longland with their appurtenances to said messuage called the Hayhouse belonging all which premises were held of the manor by rent of 26s3d and also to two tenements joined together now called the Wick House and a toft of ground formerly three cottages held by several rents of 12d 4d and 6d etc according to will of her brother etc
