and also homage present the death of Jas Rayner a customary tenant of the manor and before his death to wit on 21.10.last he surrendered by rod into hand of lord by hand of Isaac Potter in stead of baillie in presence of Jn Osborne and Isaac Potter (sic) two customary tenants etc all his customary messuages lands and tenements to use of his last will in writing now to this court comes Eliz Rayner widow and relict of Jas Rayner and produced in court the will of her late husband deceased dated said 21.10.last whereby he gave unto his wife Eliz all his copyhold estate held of manor of Earls Colne for her life towards the bringing up of her children whereupon she Eliz craves admittance to premises to wit to a toft of ground containing 10r lying at Curds Style within manor with buildings thereon erected etc for her life according to the tenor of the will of her husband by rent of 6d and services etc and paid her fine etc
