and immediately afterwards the said Eliz Robinson and said Jas in right of his wife did in full and open court surrender by the rod into hands of lord by hand of steward she Eliz being first solely and privately examined and consenting as custom is all those 2r of land more or less late parcel of a tenement called Littmans adjoining to a free messuage and also a croft of land or pasture parcel of Bearcroft and an orchard lying on the backside of the said mansion house and also another croft containing 4a more or less abutting on the back lane southward in Earls Colne to use of Jn Burles yeoman and his heirs to whom lords by steward granted seisin by rod to hold etc to the intent and purpose that a recovery may be had and suffered of the premises
