fine 8d | to this court came Wm Prodeman and Thos Kelet and surrendered into the hands of the lord one messuage with curtilage adjoining called Petmans with their appurtenances lying between a garden of Jn Bray on one part and a garden called Symond to the use of Jn Cook and Joan his wife Jn Turnor chaplain and Jn Haucon upon this condition however that the aforesaid Jn and Joan and Jn and Jn or their attorneys should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Wm and Thos or their attorneys the sum of 9marks sterling viz at the feast of michaelmas.next following after the date of this court 6s8d and at the feast of easter then next following 6 s8d sterling from year to year until the aforesaid sum of 9marks sterling should be paid to whom the lord now at this court granted thereof seisin to hold to the same said Jn Cook and Joan his wife Jn and Jn their heirs and assigns from the lord at the will of the lord by ancient services and customs etc and upon the aforesaid condition etc and if it should happen that the aforesaid Jn and Joan his wife Jn and Jn or their attorneys should default in the aforesaid payment of the 9marks sterling at any of the aforesaid times in part or in whole or for any afterwards then it should be allowed to the aforesaid Wm and Thos or their attorneys by the lord's licence to reenter into the aforesaid messuage with garden with appurtenances and retain etc notwithstanding this surrender otherwise it should stand in its force and effect and they gave to the lord for a fine etc and made fealty etc |
