inquisition relief 14d whereas at a court with view here held on the tuesday in pentecost week 2.6.23Edw3 came Olive daughter of Jn Draper and Wm son of Jn Plomer and sought one messuage with curtilage adjoining as their inheritance after the death of Wm Draper as his heirs etc the same said Olive and Wm gave to the lord for a fine for an inquisition of right etc and upon this the inquisition thereof being charged said upon their oath that the aforesaid Olive and Wm were the next heirs of Wm Draper of the aforesaid tenements etc therefore they were granted entry etc therefore it was presented to seize into the hands of the lord etc and to return etc item it was shown by an inquisition that Jn Thecher who held from the lord one cottage with one curtilage on the day of his death after his death came Jn son and heir of the said Jn to whom etc to hold to him and his heirs etc therefore it was presented to seize into the hands of the lord etc and to return to the lord of the profits etc item it was shown by an inquisition that Alex Abraham who held from the lord 2a of free land by the services of 12d rent on the day of his death after his death they said that Jn was his son and next heir etc and he gave a relief of 12d therefore it was presented to distrain the tenant of the land against the next to give to the lord the aforesaid rent and to make fealty to the lord etc Robt in the Hale came and surrendered one cottage with garden to the use of Jn Monchensy to whom etc to hold to him and his heirs etc therefore it was presented to seize etc and to return etc Peter Turnor who held from the lord one messuage with one garden by the services etc on the day of his death the said tenement was seized into the hands of the lord because there was no sequestration and upon this came Jn Clerk and took from the lord the aforesaid tenement with garden to hold to himself for his lifetime returning thereof to the lord 6d as the value of the ancient rent at the four yearly terms etc saving the right etc therefore it was presented to seize into the hands of the lord etc and to return etc item Roger Sleyghter came and surrendered into the hands of the lord three roofs and three uprights to the use of Margt Sleygther to whom etc to hold to herself and her heirs etc therefore it was presented to seize etc and to return etc item Wm Bolor came and surrendered into the hands of the lord one garden lying below a tenement of Jn de Colne with a certain (tynctor) dye works upon Colford Hell to the use of Alice Bolor to whom etc to hold to herself and her heirs etc therefore it was presented to seize etc and to return etc item Jn Iryk came and surrendered into the hands of the lord one messuage with garden to the use of Robt Barbor Jn Whytcherch and Robt Wynter to whom etc to hold to the same their heirs and assigns etc therefore it was presented etc and to return to the lord etc item it was presented to seize into the hands of the lord one croft of enclosed land lying next to land of Andrew Gosse after the death of Jn son of Jn Draper etc and to return etc Robt Copyn surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage with one garden and 2a of customary land to the use of Roger Copyn his brother and his heirs to whom etc to hold to him and his heirs etc therefore it was presented to seize etc and to return etc item it was shown by an inquisition that Jn Donewyce who held from the lord etc one messuage with 1a of free land after whose death came Roger Copyn and claimed to hold part of the said land and tenement for his lifetime as his right and to have their profits and similarly came Peter Trot and claimed part of the said tenement to hold for his lifetime according to the custom of the manor as his right of Julia his wife and also came Alice daughter and one of the heirs of the aforesaid Jn Donewych and claimed for herself part of the said tenement and illegible text upon this it was shown to have been granted entry to them and they gave to the lord for a relief 3s and made fealty etc
