illegible textfine 2s it is found by the homage that the tenement customary called Moredens sometime Hen Layer's deceased which the foresaid Hen late surrendered to the use of Alice his wife during the whole term of her life and likewise surrendered into the lord's hands the half of one parcel of land called Tollehousegreene now builded on containing in length 6rods in breadth 12ft to the use of one Geo Dykinson during the term of the life of the foresaid Alice to remain from thence after the death of the foresaid Alice to one Wm Layer son of the foresaid Hen and his heirs as in the leet with the court here holden on tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 28Hen8 6.6.1536 more at large appears which tenement called Mordens and the tenement builded upon the half of the parcel of land called Tollehousegreen are presented by the homage at this court to be very much waste contrary to the custom of this manor by reason whereof the said tenements are seized and ought to fall into the lord's hands and hereupon to this court came the foresaid Wm Layer to whom the said tenements with the appurtenances ought to remain after the decease of the foresaid Alice as afore and he humbly craved to be admitted to the tenements aforesaid with the appurtenances and offereth to make his fine and also promiseth and granteth the said tenements within one year next following to be rebuilded whereupon the lord of his special favour upon the humble petition grant and promise of the said Wm for the rebuilding of the premises granted out of his hands by his steward the foresaid tenement called Mordens and the foresaid half of the tenement called Tollehousegreene to the foresaid Wm Layer and his heirs according to the tenor force form and effect of the remainder aforesaid by the rents and services therefore before due and accustomed to which Wm Layer by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and he giveth fine and made fealty
