Brownes Messuage fine 10sit is found by the homage that Rich Parker that held to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod etc one messuage with a garden adjoining with appurtenances sometime Jn Slooes since Rich Browne's and late Wm Davison's as by etc with one way to the same messuage belonging to carry and recarry out of the garden of the said messuage into the way called Barcrofte Lane as by the court roll 21.6.10Eliz1 more at large appears out of court and since the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Reade instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Peerson and Rich Ennewes the lord's customary tenants and others the same witnessing the foresaid messuage and garden with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Agnes Brocke his mother now the wife of Humph Brocke for the term of the natural life of the said Agnes on condition that the same Agnes shall pay the lord's rent and sufficiently maintain the buildings with reparations and also that the said Agnes shall not claim or crave any dowry of and in the customary lands and tenements of the said Rich during her life whereupon the foresaid Agnes came by the said Humph Brocke her husband and prayed to be admitted to the premises according to the form and effect of the surrender aforesaid to which Agnes to the hands of the said Humph by the hands of the steward there is seisin thereof delivered to have and to hold to the same Agnes for term of her life of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents and services therefore due and of right accustomed yet on condition aforesaid saving the right etc and she giveth fine and the foresaid Humph Brocke made fealty and so the same Agnes is admitted the lord's tenant thereof for the term aforesaid on the condition aforesaid (not in D/DPr75 but in D/DPr76)
