fine 26s8d it is found by the homage that Thos Culverton that held to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod etc three crofts of land called Husses containing 4a of land late parcel of the tenement and 26a of land called Curds as the foresaid crofts of land lie together near Curds Lane toward the east as etc and by copy of court roll here holden 21.6.10Eliz1 more at large appears died since the last court and before his death lying on his death bed surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Barth Churche instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Bridge and Robt Peerson the lord's customary tenants and other the same witnessing the foresaid three crofts of land with the appurtenances amongst other things to the use and behoof of his testament and last will by which he gave and legacied the foresaid three crofts of land in these english words viz item I give to Thomasine Culverton my daughter and her heirs and assigns all those my lands commonly called Perycrofte Coxcrofte and Sedecroft holden of the manor of the Priory of Colne aforesaid and also all my lands there holden of the earldom being three crofts called Husses and furthermore he willed by his said will that if it should happen the said Thomasine or Joan his other daughter do die before they come to the age of twenty one years that then she that overlived should have the other's part as by his said will bearing date 10.7.1581 more at large appears whereupon the said Thomasine Culverton being now of the age of 6yrs by Robt Peerson her guardian came and humbly prayed to be admitted to the foresaid crofts of land according to the form and effect of the surrender and will aforesaid to whom by the lord's steward to the hands of her said guardian there is seisin thereof delivered to the hands of her said guardian by the rod to hold to the same Thomasine her heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc by the rents and services etc and she giveth fine etc and made fealty and is admitted the lord's tenant
