it is found by the homage that Rich Prentice out of the court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Robt Wood in the presence of Thos Bridge and Jn Ancell the lord's customary tenants and other the same witnessing all that his half of one cottage with a yard adjoining called Coopes lying between the messuage sometime Steph Miller's of the one part and the garden late Jn Wright's of the other part one head thereof abutting upon the kings highway leading from Colne aforesaid toward Colchester as etc to the use and behoof of Edm Potter his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and prayed himself to be admitted thereto and because it is so found by the homage therefore he is adm itted the lord's tenant to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents and services etc and he giveth a fine etc and made fealty and is admitted the lord's tenant
