Thos Leffingwell at the court here holden 12.9.28Eliz1 took to him and his heirs by copy of the lord's grant one parcel of the waste of this manor containing in length 9rod and in breadth 4rod one head thereof abuts upon another piece of the waste of this manor then in the tenure of Thos Kelton gentleman towards the south and at the other head thereof abuts upon the house of Lawrence (probably Gilott) likewise lately of the waste of this manor and late inclosed towards the north 3rod and lieth in length between the highway leading from Colne aforesaid towards Halstead on the east and to a parcel of land then in the hands of the said Thos Leffingwell towards the west by fealty suit of court and rent of 8d and one capon yearly at michaelmas and the same Thos being now solemnly required came here to this court and acknowledged his tenure aforesaid and is sworn of the homage
