it is found by the homage of this court that Thos Bridge and Ann his wife she the same Ann being in the full court alone examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Hen Abbotte (may be Hen Abbotte) instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Reade and Jn Greene customary tenants the same witnessing according to the custom of this manor one croft of land called Spoute Crofte alias Rycrofte which he together with Ann his wife took to them and the heirs of the said Thos by copy of the surrender of Jn Potter as by a copy here shown of the 10Eliz1 it appeareth to the intent that the lord might regrant the said croft of land to one Jn Churche and his heirs and assigns according to the custom of this manor to which Jn the lord by the steward aforesaid delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have to him and his heirs to hold of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and by fealty suit of court and rent of 5s6d1h by the year at the usual terms of this manor and by all other customs rents and services therefore before due and of right accustomed and hereupon the same Jn Churche for such his estate in form aforesaid to be had made fine and fealty with the lord and so is admitted the lord's tenant thereof in form aforesaid
