the homage present that since the last court and before this court viz 6.2.1592 Thos Richold surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Xoph Isaacke instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Rooks and Edm Potter two customary tenants of this manor the same witnessing according to the custom of the same manor all the east end of his customary tenement called Masons containing in length 37ft viz even to the hall together with the stable yard and garden lying on the north side and the east end of the same tenement being parcel of one messuage with appurtenances called Masons lying between the church yard of the parish church of Earls Colne aforesaid and the highway leading from Colne aforesaid towards Halstead on the part of the north to the use and behoof of Rich Smith joiner and his heirs forever to which Rich here present in court the lord by the steward aforesaid granted seisin of the premises to have and to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents services and customs therefore sue and of right accustomed and he made fine 20s and fealty to the lord and is admitted the lord's tenant thereof
