whereas at the court with the leet here holden on monday being the 5.1.32Eliz1 Jn Brewer glover was admitted the lord's tenant to him and his heirs the the moiety of one cottage with a yard called Coopes lying between the messuage sometime of Steph Miller of the one part and the garden late of Jn Wright of the other part one head thereof abutting upon the highway leading from Colne aforesaid towards Colchester and the reversion of the other moiety of the said cottage with the yard sometime called Coopes lying at Collfordhill between the messuage sometime of the said Steph Miller of the one part and the garden late of the said Jn Wright of the other part one head thereof abutting upon the foresaid highway when it shall happen by and after the death of Agnes Man wife of Thos Man by virtue of the surrender of Abrm Bridge as by copy of the roll of the same court brought and shown forth in this court appeareth etc now at this court it is presented by the homage aforesaid that since the last court and before this court the foresaid Jn Brewer surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Robt Reade instead of the bailiff in presence of Robt Rookes Hen Abbotte and Thos Allen customary tenants of this manor the same witnessing according to the custom etc all and singular the premises with their appurtenances to the use and behoof of Wm Prentice and his heirs to which Wm here present in the court the lord by his steward aforesaid granted seisin thereof to have and to hold to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents services and customs there for due and of right accustomed and made fine 30s and fealty and admitted the lord's tenant thereof etc
