fine 12sit is found by the homage aforesaid that since the last court and out of this court Edm Potter surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Hen Abbott (may be Hen Abbott) instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Churche gentleman Thos Pollie and Jn Knight customary tenants the same witnessing according to the custom of the manor aforesaid one piece of land containing 1a more or less late parcel of a croft of land called Beerecroft as it lieth in Colne aforesaid viz between the land late of Thos Christmas and since of Barth Churche on the part of the east and the land now of Hen Smith residue of the foresaid croft called Beerecroft towards the west one head abutting upon the way leading from the parish church of Earls Colne aforesaid towards Colne Park towards the south and the other head abutting upon the garden late of Rich Holborogh towards the north to the use and behoof of Robt Knight and his heirs forever to which Robt present here in court the lord by his steward aforesaid granted seisin thereof to have and to hold to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents services and customs therefore due and of right accustomed and he made fine and fealty and is admitted the lord's tenant thereof
