two that he doth very well know the manors of Earls Colne and Colne Priory in the said county and the messuage lands and tenements now in question called Curds holden of the said manors by copy of court roll and hath known the said manors messuages lands and tenements these forty years and upward and this deponent saith that in and during the time of his remembrance he hath known lords of the said manor the right honourable Edw late earl of Oxford deceased and after him the said Roger Harlakenden and since his death the said defendant Rich Harlakenden who is still lord of the said manors but as for proprietors or owners of the said messuages and lands in question this deponent saith he never knew any but the now complainant Rose in her widowhood and her now husband and he in her right and before that her former husband Robt Partridge deceased and one Peter White before the said Rose as this deponent hath credibly heard
