seven that the style or title of the said court holden for the said manor 18.9.31Eliz1 contained in the first leaf of this paper book or bundle or paper rolls or entries that is now showed unto him as aforesaid is all of the own proper handwriting of one Jn Maddison that was then one of the said mr Cooke's clerks and touching the particular entry in this book contained mentioning a surrender made by Robt Partridge and Rose his wife to the use of the said Robt Partridge and his heirs and that she the said Rose was examined by the steward etc this deponent saith that upon his careful perusing and looking over the same at this the time of his examination he is undoubtedly persuaded in his conscience that the whole entry itself is all of the own proper handwriting of one Jeff Thorroughgood who was at that time one other of the said mr Cooke's clerks but for the corrections amendments or interlinings in the same entry he saith that all they are of the own proper handwriting of the said mr Cooke himself and for all the other entries contained in this said book he saith that some of them are of the said mr Cooke's own handwriting others of the said mr Maddison's and the rest of them the said mr Thoroughgood's or of one Jn Andrews that was then also one of the said mr Cooke's clerks and this he saith is all that he can say to this interrogatory
