to the sixth says that about twelve of the clock on 17.5.last he upon occasion of business went through the mill and there saw in the entry of the mill Jn Cooper servant of mr Harlakenden and also in the mill Sam Diglett the elder and saw also in the millhouse Wm Strutt Edw Smith gentleman Robt Peartree and Jn Smith not having any weapons there amongst them that he saw neither did he bring any weapon with him to the mill unless it were a walking stick or staff in his hand neither he came thither then or at any other time to give any aid or assistance in keeping or taking of the mill neither does he know for what purpose or by whom procurement etc the other persons were in the millhouse nor remembers whether any mastiffs or bandogs were there in the millhouse or was he in the mill or millhouse that day but only at one time and then stayed not there but departed so soon as the perusal there was such company there as before is showed more he cannot say
