this is the final agreement made in the court of the lady queen at Westminster on the quindene of michaelmas 26Eliz1 before Edw Anderson Thos Meade Francis Wyndam and Wm Peryam justices and others faithful to the lady queen then there present between Roger Harlakenden esq querent and Edw earl of Oxford deforciant of the manor of Earls Colne alias Colne Comitis with appurtenances and of one hundred messuages one hundred gardens one hundred orchards 300a arable land 100a meadow 200a pasture 200a woodland 100a open fields and heathland and 80s rent with appurtenances in Earls Colne alias Colne Comitis Whyte Colne Colne Wakes Colne Engayne Halstede Matteshall alias Markeshall Tey Magna Tey Parva and Fearynge whereupon a plea of covenant was summoned between them in the same court that is that the aforesaid earl recognizes the aforesaid manor and tenements with appurtenances to be the right of him Roger and that which Roger had of the gift of the aforesaid earl and that he remises and quitclaims from himself and his heirs to the aforesaid Roger and his heirs forever and afterwards the earl granted for himself and heirs that he would warrant to the aforesaid Roger and his heirs the aforesaid manor and tenements with appurtenances against all forever and for this remission quitclaim warrant fine and agreement Roger owes the aforesaid earl 40li sterling
