the will of Hen Sporyer of Earls Colne in the name of god amen the 12.3.1525 etc I Hen Sporyer of Earls Colne thus make my last will and testament in form following first I bequeath my soul to almighty god to our lady saint mary and to all the company of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of St Andrews of Colne aforesaid also I bequeath to the high altar of the said church for tithes and offerings forgotten 4d also I will that Agnes my wife have my house that I dwell in with the appurtenances while she liveth and after her decease to Wm my son and also I give my wife my lands in Notley which my father gave me and after my mother sold it unlawfully if it be recovered I will my wife endeavour herself to recover it and to have it her life time and after her my son Wm and if my wife survive and outlive my son then I will that my wife sell my house and lands and dispose it to the wealth of our souls and friends souls and to reward my godchild and her godchildren as she may spare it to pray for us the residue of my goods I give to Agnes my wife to dispose as I willed my house and lands before whom I make my sole executrix and I devise Robt Asteley and Jn Awode of Earls Colne aforesaid to assist her in the rights she to pay for their costs and reward them for their labours these being witness of this my last will and testament Robt Astley Jn Awode Wm Orvis of Earls Colne and Rich Sampton of Halsted the day and year abovesaid
