of Earls Colne in the county of Essex husbandman being sick in body but of good and perfect remembrance thanks be god do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty god my maker and saviour assuredly trusting to receive forgiveness of my sins and my body to be buried in the parish churchyard of Earls Colne aforesaid by mine executrix item I give and bequeath unto

my wife all that my house and lands being customary with all the barns stables and outhouses with the appurtenances thereunto belonging lying in Earls Colne aforesaid to her and her assigns during the term of her natural life and after her decease I will the said house and lands with the appurtenances to be sold by

my sons and their assigns with in the space of two whole years next after her decease to the most profit and advantage and I will that the money thereof coming to be evenly and equally divided and distributed to and amongst so many of my children that shall then be living that is to say
